Understanding the PEBC Rejection
In a recent evaluation outcome from the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC), a candidate's 2-year Diploma in Pharmacy from the Directorate of Medical Education, Chennai was deemed not eligible for evaluation.
The PEBC stated:
"We have reviewed your file. Unfortunately, a two (2) year Diploma of Pharmacy degree from Directorate of Medical Education, Chennai, does not meet our minimum Document Evaluation requirement. I regret to inform you that it was unsuccessful."
Why Was It Rejected?
PEBC requires that candidates hold a minimum of a 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy that includes comprehensive coursework, clinical experience, and recognized accreditation. A 2-year diploma, regardless of content, usually does not meet Canadian standards for professional licensing.
