US ICE Arrests 364 Criminal Aliens — 6 Indians Among Them

NEW YORK: In a major month-long crackdown, the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested 364 individuals for criminal activity and immigration violations across six states — Indiana, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, and Wisconsin.

Indians Caught in Immigration Violation Sweep

Among those detained were six Indian nationals, with a notable case involving a 25-year-old Indian man from Champaign, Illinois, convicted of sexual abuse on July 30. He remains in ICE custody and is currently undergoing immigration verification procedures.

Operation Highlights

• Total arrests: 364
• Countries involved: 25, including India, Colombia, Germany, Ecuador
• Criminal convictions: 187 individuals
• Gender breakdown: 16 women, 346 men

Criminal Backgrounds and Public Safety Threats

More than half of those arrested had prior convictions for assault, burglary, child neglect, attempted murder, and sexual exploitation of minors. ICE confirmed that this crackdown focused on individuals who posed a public safety threat or violated US migration laws.
